PRETORIA - The World Aids Day Concert
may be new, however it is fast becoming the talk of the golden province of
Gauteng due to its unique agenda to drive towards zero new HIV infections. The event,
set to take place annually on the 1st of December will see it’s
first instalment at the prestigious Freedom Park which is located on the
52-hectare site on Salvokop in Pretoria.
The Gospel stage line-up will include the platinum selling and award
winning songstress Swazi, Putuma Tiso, Godwin Omighale, Sabata, Lombard
Matshinge, Verona Pillay and the all-star outfit, Family of Praise. The Urban
stage will boast with performances by Malumz on Decks, Siphokazi, Femi Koya, Cruz
Afrika, Mawat, and re-introducing the legend Marah Louw performing unheard new
Jazz and Afro-Pop singles.

he's the main purpose of the event is to “rally voices behind zero new HIV infections.”
"A portion of proceeds from the event will benefit LoveLife towards
efforts to combat the disease", he added.
Another unique feature of the event is the Young Talent Zone
between 9am and 12 noon where ten up and coming acts will be given a platform
to perform at the concert. “Applications for entry to the Young Talent Zone is open
to every South African up and coming talent
with forms accessible from the World Aids Day Concert website,” commented
Andile Nkosi of Music Central Africa.
